GRIP to receive Outdoor Equity Fund grant for Nature Discovery Summer Camp 2026

We are thrilled to be one of 61 recipients for NM Outdoor Recreation Division Outdoor Equity Fund awards for our Silver City Watershed Keepers Nature Discovery Summer Camp 2026!
The Silver City Watershed Keepers Nature Discovery Summer Camp provides youth experiential, outdoor education in their local watershed, natural areas, and public lands. Our camp inspires confidence in the outdoors and empowers our next generation to steward their environment, water resources, and cultural heritage. Over the past four years, we have hosted free, week-long summer day camps to over 170 rising 4th-6th graders in rural Grant County. Our camp provides engaging and educational outdoor learning experiences and connects youth with local naturalists, conservationists, and community leaders who share their love of nature and our local environment.
This is the fourth award that GRIP has received from the Outdoor Equity Fund for its summer camp program. In addition to the NM Outdoor Recreation Division, we’d like to thank the Lineberry Foundation, the Alex Olsen and Martyn Pearson Memorial Donor Advised Fund from the Gila Community Foundation, the City of Bayard, and the University of New Mexico INSPIRES program. These funders have generously supported our summer camp program over the past four years.
