GRIP’s 2024 Impact Report

As 2024 draws to a close, we’re taking stock of everything we accomplished this year with your support. Your generosity has helped us further our mission to promote healthy communities by protecting our environment.
Together, we have held Freeport-McMoRan accountable for groundwater contamination and impacts to water supplies, defended southwest New Mexico and southern Arizona from an Air Force proposal for low elevation military combat training, coordinated volunteers to clean up more than 4 tons of litter from our roads and waterways, continued restoration of San Vicente Creek, initiated the Southwest NM Community Forestry Network, and provided outdoor experiences to local kids.
In 2025, we’ll likely spend a significant amount of time defending environmental safeguards given the change in federal administration and industry calls for roll back of environmental regulations. We are advocating at the state level for surface water quality permitting to secure New Mexico’s water resources given loss of federal protections.
Rest assured, we’ll be on guard to defend our environment and quality of life!
