Give Grandly on May 9th and Protect our environment
As we all deal with the current public health and economic crisis, area nonprofits are stepping up to creatively meet the tremendous needs of our community created by the COVID-19 emergency. This year’s Give Grandly community-giving event will help us show support for our community and area nonprofits during this difficult time.
On Saturday, May 9th GRIP invites you to protect our environment by participating in the annual Give Grandly! Give Local! event – a 24-hour community-giving marathon to support more than 50 nonprofit organizations that help make southwest New Mexico a great place to live, work and play.
Your donation to GRIP on May 9th will ensure community health and wellbeing through protection of our environment and natural resources.
- Protect. For more than 20 years, GRIP has worked to protect public health by ensuring responsible operation and reclamation of the region’s mines; to foster sustainability and water security; and to save our special natural areas.
- Advocate. By bringing technical, policy and legal expertise to uphold safeguards of our water, air, land, and natural systems, GRIP defends human and ecological health.
- Engage. GRIP engages our community to take action to protect our environment, public health, and unique wild places through information, educational events and stewardship programs, such as the Coronavirus Update and Earth Matters radio shows, Silver City Watershed Keepers and Cut Your Waste, Grant County.
Given the COVID-19 public health crisis, this year’s Give Grandly festival is going digital! Give Grandly will host a virtual event next to the Farmers’ Market that will be live-streamed on the www.givegrandly.org website on May 9th from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm. The event will showcase the participating non-profits and the good work they do in videos created by the organizations themselves, and include music by great local talent and leaderboard updates to track donations as they are reported.
Donations to GRIP can be made online at www.givegrandly.civicore.com/GilaResourcesInformationProject from now through May 9th.
This year you can double your impact! Donations through Give Grandly up to $500 will be matched.
No matter how big or small the donation, everyone can be a philanthropist and support our area nonprofits.
