Tell NRC to deny license for Holtec Radioactive Waste Storage Facility
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission NRC is reviewing the license for Holtec International’s proposal for interim storage of all of the nation’s spent nuclear fuel and high-level radioactive waste at a site in Lea County, NM just 16 miles north of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant. This proposal poses a significant public health risk to New Mexicans as this waste remains radioactive for millions of years.
Tell the NRC to deny the license for Holtec.
Public comments will be accepted by the NRC until Sept. 22, 2020.
